About Mother Teresa of Calcutta
What you should know
Missionaries of Charity Brothers
At the heart of our charism is the gift of seeing, loving and
serving Jesus in the distressing disguise of the poorest of
the poor. Our conviction of the special and real presence
of Jesus in the poor is revealed in the Gospel :
"…in so far as you did this to one of the least
of these brothers of mine, you did it to me"

Brothers live a life marked by an intense life of prayer,
penance and works of mercy in simplicity and humility within
their own communities and in the heart of the world.

Missionaries of Charity Fathers
The Fathers were founded to combine the beauty
of the Missionary of Charity vocation with
the grace of ministerial priesthood.
Corpus Christi Movement for Priests
The movement is an international association for Diocesan priests –
seeking to promote holiness among secular priests.
Brother priests are invited to spiritually share in the charism
and spirit of Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity
within the context of their own priestly ministry and vocation.
Lay Missionaries of Charity
Members adhere to the spirit and charism of
the Missionaries of Charity and make private vows of (conjugal) chastity,
poverty, obedience and wholehearted and free service
to the poorest of the poor – beginning with members of
their own family with the Holy Family of Nazareth
as their special model.
Volunteering with the Missionaries of Charity
From the beginning, Mother attracted people of
all religions in every part of the world
who wished to have some
part in the work of loving service to God
in the person of the needy.
